I have never been so excited to look SO ugly as I did getting my first chemical peel with Renew Aesthetic Clinic. Luke and I decided to go ahead and try out this non-invasive procedure together this winter and were both equally impressed with the results. (See our IGTV video of the experience HERE).
Because we have very different skin types, our technician, Kristin encouraged us to begin at two separate levels. While Luke went for a deep peel, I opted for a medium level to begin with. My skin is often highly sensitive to new products and dietary changes, so when it comes to my face, I prefer to error on the side of caution.
It’s a good thing I went with Kristin’s recommendation, because while Luke’s skin barely peeled in thin, translucent layers- mine sloughed off in SHEETS! Okay, okay. Maybe not sheets- per se. You can see in the picture above how much my skin was peeling after just two days. Luke’s wasn’t even photographable, because the light peeling came off with a simple morning wash. Below, you can see it after three days.
Before this peel, I had used some at-home products for light, superficial peels that keep my skin exfoliated and bright in the short term. This peel however, lightened many dark spots on my skin, made my pores appear smaller for several months and prevented acne breakouts for about that same length of time. Luke experienced a similar affect to his pores and recent blemishes.
TOP 3 Benefits From my Chemical Peel
1. Blemishes were faded by at least 50%.
2. Pores appeared tighter and smaller.
3. Prevented acne breakouts for over 3 months.
If you’re considering a medium to deep chemical peel, I recommend finding a trusted esthetician who will give you a free consultation beforehand. It’s important to consider the options available to you and which ones will work best for your skin type and lifestyle. While most of my skin issues stem from acne scars and dark spots, these peels can also help with age spots, aging skin, crows feet, sun-damage and wrinkles.
