Layering is probably one of the most intimidating aspects of styling even for bloggers. If you feel confident enough to start experimenting however, it’s the number one way to crush at major street-style trends and make your closet feel fresh again! I am going to share 3 easy tips on layering that will make you feel like a pro in no-time.
1. Pick an unexpected layering piece. Here I’ve styled my Daisy Gonzalez Sophia dress in a trés chic fashion for a sophisticated day look.
2. Find a color palette and try to work it in from head to toe. You can see that I coordinated tan starting with a simple Beret, then a wool coat and ending with a deeper tan on the soles of my shoes. I also have two pops of white to balance out the layers.
3. Keep major statement pieces to a minimum. See how I’ve easily layered up my look, but added a pop of personality with my bag? (This is a beginners layering tip, since I know some amazing people who can layer and coordinate prints from head to toe).
Note: I was excited to try something I haven’t seen yet with this sexy evening dress. I adore the length and the fierce neckline, so wanted to accentuate that with a casual unbuttoning of my button-up. I also wanted to keep it as the center-point of my ensemble so you may have noticed it’s nearly the only black item here.
