Luke and I take every chance we can to retreat and get some peace of mind. We strive to be present “cup-full’ kind of partners so this has been an intentional piece to our relationship from the beginning. So needless to say, we were both SO excited when Daryn, the manager of the Heathman Hotel invited us to spend a weekend at their gorgeous facilities this Fall.
This post is sponsored by the Heathman Hotel and in exchange for our honest review, we recieved a complimentary stay here.
First off, I have to say that location is EVERYTHING when visiting a new city, or even enjoying a stay-cation as we did. The Heathman Hotel is centrally located within walking distance to parks, the Pioneer Square mall and a long list of top restaurants and bars.
If you decide to stay in, they also offer a wonderful Brunch and dinner menu at the Heathman’s own restaurant, Headwaters. We had a couples brunch with some good friends and found the french toast and eggs benedict to be our personal favorites! For those of you who know how particular our eating habits are, this is saying A LOT about Headwaters, that they could accommodate our standards for ethical, local food sources.
There’s a bar area that gets lively come evening and can be a fun spot to grab a drink and late night bites. The street is lit up at night, so you can people watch through the windows and get an inside peak at the night life if that’s your thing too.
I’ve been to the Heathman a handful of times for live music over the years and was pleasantly surprised by the stunning renovations, including that of their new library. The Heathman Library features more than 3,000 volumes signed by their authors along these cases. The ladders are an intimate, timeless touch and of course Luke and I had to take advantage of the props so that I could be somewhat level with him in a couple shots, ha!
We captured more of the room ameneities in our instagram stories, which you can see in our my love highlights. The bedrooms are stocked full of local mini bar treats and all rooms come with two down pillows and two alternative down pillows, which is a must for me because I am a two-pillows side sleeper. They were very accommodating about bring Tobi and even brought him a food and water bowl.
Our stay was topped off by consistently excellent service that started from our check-in and continued throughout our experiences at the restaurant, with room service and all the other staff members we ran into during our time there.
We will definitely recommend a stay here for friends and family traveling through Portland and plan to revisit with the kids this winter.
*Also, we did note that there was a lot of buzz about the Traditional Russion Tea’s served here, but we have bookmarked this for a future experience. Definitely check it out if you get a chance though!
